“But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:42-45 KJV

Heavenly Father, Jehovah God, thank you for helping me to get where I am today. I know my life have been blessed with a number of your successes. I admit that I like to do things my way. I don’t like giving up control to someone else. I’m use to giving orders and I am good at it. Father, help me temper my small authority with humility and grace. Father, I am amazed at what your son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was able to do for me. It is not easy to choose to be last. That competitive edge and drive to be first have been ingrained in me since my early years. Help me to find a way to put other people ahead of myself, to uplift my brothers and sisters, to be a true servant. Father, help me resist having to be first. Father I honor you, I bless you, I love you in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
