Proverbs 3:3=E2=80=934 =E2=80=93 =E2=80=9CLet love and faithfulness=
never leave you; bind them around your neck=E2=80=A6 Then you will win f=
avor and a good name in the sight of God and man.=E2=80=9D

Daily B=
read: =E2=80=AD=E2=80=ADRuth=E2=80=AC =E2=80=AD1=E2=80=AC:=E2=80=AD1=E2=80=

=E2=80=9CI=
n the days when the judges ruled, there was a famine in the land. So a ma=
n from Bethlehem in Judah, together with his wife and two sons, went to l=
ive for a while in the country of Moab. The man=E2=80=99s name was Elimel=
ek, his wife=E2=80=99s name was Naomi, and the names of his two sons were=
Mahlon and Kilion. They were Ephrathites from Bethlehem, Judah. And they=
went to Moab and lived there. Now Elimelek, Naomi=E2=80=99s husband, die=
d, and she was left with her two sons. They married Moabite women, one na=
med Orpah and the other Ruth. After they had lived there about ten years,=
both Mahlon and Kilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two son=
s and her husband. When Naomi heard in Moab that the Lord had come to the=
aid of his people by providing food for them, she and her daughters-in-l=
aw prepared to return home from there. With her two daughters-in-law she =
left the place where she had been living and set out on the road that wou=
ld take them back to the land of Judah. Then Naomi said to her two daught=
ers-in-law, =E2=80=9CGo back, each of you, to your mother=E2=80=99s home.=
May the Lord show you kindness, as you have shown kindness to your dead =
husbands and to me. May the Lord grant that each of you will find rest in=
the home of another husband.=E2=80=9D Then she kissed them goodbye and t=
hey wept aloud and said to her, =E2=80=9CWe will go back with you to your=
people.=E2=80=9D But Naomi said, =E2=80=9CReturn home, my daughters. Why=
would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could beco=
me your husbands? Return home, my daughters; I am too old to have another=
husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me=E2=80=94even if I=
had a husband tonight and then gave birth to sons=E2=80=94 would you wai=
t until they grew up? Would you remain unmarried for them? No, my daughte=
rs. It is more bitter for me than for you, because the Lord=E2=80=99s han=
d has turned against me!=E2=80=9D At this they wept aloud again. Then Orp=
ah kissed her mother-in-law goodbye, but Ruth clung to her. =E2=80=9CLook=
,=E2=80=9D said Naomi, =E2=80=9Cyour sister-in-law is going back to her p=
eople and her gods. Go back with her.=E2=80=9D But Ruth replied, =E2=80=9C=
Don=E2=80=99t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go=
I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people=
and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be burie=
d. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separ=
ates you and me.=E2=80=9D When Naomi realized that Ruth was determined to=
go with her, she stopped urging her. So the two women went on until they=
came to Bethlehem. When they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was st=
irred because of them, and the women exclaimed, =E2=80=9CCan this be Naom=
i?=E2=80=9D =E2=80=9CDon=E2=80=99t call me Naomi,=E2=80=9D she told them.=
=E2=80=9CCall me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very bitter=
. I went away full, but the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me N=
aomi? The Lord has afflicted me; the Almighty has brought misfortune upon=
me.=E2=80=9D So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabite=
, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was be=
ginning.=E2=80=9D

Questions:

1. What does Ruth=E2=80=99s d=
ecision to stay with Naomi reveal about godly loyalty and commitment, eve=
n when the future is uncertain?

How can we apply that kind of fait=
hfulness in our relationships today=E2=80=94family, friends, or ministry?=

2. Naomi saw her suffering as evidence that =E2=80=9Cthe Lord=E2=
=80=99s hand has gone out against me=E2=80=9D (Ruth 1:13). Have you ever =
felt like that?

How do we keep our trust in God when our circumsta=
nces feel bitter or unfair?

3. Ruth chose to follow Naomi=E2=80=99=
s God over returning to her familiar home and gods.

What =E2=80=9C=
comfortable=E2=80=9D things might God be asking you to leave behind in or=
der to fully follow Him?

Prayer:

Lord God, Thank You f=
or Ruth=E2=80=99s example of unwavering loyalty and faith. Help me to wal=
k with that same devotion, to follow You even when the path is uncertain.=
Teach me to be faithful in relationships, steadfast in love, and trustin=
g in Your purpose through every season. Like Ruth, may I cling to You and=
never turn back. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Challenge of the =
Day:

Today, choose faithfulness even when it=E2=80=99s hard. Wheth=
er it=E2=80=99s standing by someone in their struggle or trusting God thr=
ough your own, let loyalty and love lead your actions. Ask yourself: Who =
or what is God calling me to commit to today, even when it=E2=80=99s unco=
mfortable?=0D
