=E2=80=9C=E2=80=9CAt that time,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord, =E2=80=
=9CI will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they will be my p=
eople.=E2=80=9D This is what the Lord says: =E2=80=9CThe people who survi=
ve the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest =
to Israel.=E2=80=9D The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: =E2=80=9C=
I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailin=
g kindness. I will build you up again, and you, Virgin Israel, will be re=
built. Again you will take up your timbrels and go out to dance with the =
joyful. Again you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria; the farme=
rs will plant them and enjoy their fruit. There will be a day when watchm=
en cry out on the hills of Ephraim, =E2=80=98Come, let us go up to Zion, =
to the Lord our God.=E2=80=99=E2=80=86=E2=80=9D This is what the Lord say=
s: =E2=80=9CSing with joy for Jacob; shout for the foremost of the nation=
s. Make your praises heard, and say, =E2=80=98Lord, save your people, the=
remnant of Israel.=E2=80=99 See, I will bring them from the land of the =
north and gather them from the ends of the earth. Among them will be the =
blind and the lame, expectant mothers and women in labor; a great throng =
will return. They will come with weeping; they will pray as I bring them =
back. I will lead them beside streams of water on a level path where they=
will not stumble, because I am Israel=E2=80=99s father, and Ephraim is m=
y firstborn son. =E2=80=9CHear the word of the Lord, you nations; proclai=
m it in distant coastlands: =E2=80=98He who scattered Israel will gather =
them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.=E2=80=99 For the Lord=
will deliver Jacob and redeem them from the hand of those stronger than =
they. They will come and shout for joy on the heights of Zion; they will =
rejoice in the bounty of the Lord=E2=80=94 the grain, the new wine and th=
e olive oil, the young of the flocks and herds. They will be like a well-=
watered garden, and they will sorrow no more. Then young women will dance=
and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into =
gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow. I will sati=
sfy the priests with abundance, and my people will be filled with my boun=
ty,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord. This is what the Lord says: =E2=80=9CA vo=
ice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her=
children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.=E2=80=9D=
This is what the Lord says: =E2=80=9CRestrain your voice from weeping an=
d your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,=E2=80=9D declares=
the Lord. =E2=80=9CThey will return from the land of the enemy. So there=
is hope for your descendants,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord. =E2=80=9CYour =
children will return to their own land. =E2=80=9CI have surely heard Ephr=
aim=E2=80=99s moaning: =E2=80=98You disciplined me like an unruly calf, a=
nd I have been disciplined. Restore me, and I will return, because you ar=
e the Lord my God. After I strayed, I repented; after I came to understan=
d, I beat my breast. I was ashamed and humiliated because I bore the disg=
race of my youth.=E2=80=99 Is not Ephraim my dear son, the child in whom =
I delight? Though I often speak against him, I still remember him. Theref=
ore my heart yearns for him; I have great compassion for him,=E2=80=9D de=
clares the Lord. =E2=80=9CSet up road signs; put up guideposts. Take note=
of the highway, the road that you take. Return, Virgin Israel, return to=
your towns. How long will you wander, unfaithful Daughter Israel? The Lo=
rd will create a new thing on earth=E2=80=94 the woman will return to the=
man.=E2=80=9D This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: =E2=
=80=9CWhen I bring them back from captivity, the people in the land of Ju=
dah and in its towns will once again use these words: =E2=80=98The Lord b=
less you, you prosperous city, you sacred mountain.=E2=80=99 People will =
live together in Judah and all its towns=E2=80=94farmers and those who mo=
ve about with their flocks. I will refresh the weary and satisfy the fain=
t.=E2=80=9D At this I awoke and looked around. My sleep had been pleasant=
to me. =E2=80=9CThe days are coming,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord, =E2=80=9C=
when I will plant the kingdoms of Israel and Judah with the offspring of =
people and of animals. Just as I watched over them to uproot and tear dow=
n, and to overthrow, destroy and bring disaster, so I will watch over the=
m to build and to plant,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord. =E2=80=9CIn those da=
ys people will no longer say, =E2=80=98The parents have eaten sour grapes=
, and the children=E2=80=99s teeth are set on edge.=E2=80=99 Instead, eve=
ryone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes=E2=80=94their =
own teeth will be set on edge. =E2=80=9CThe days are coming,=E2=80=9D dec=
lares the Lord, =E2=80=9Cwhen I will make a new covenant with the people =
of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant =
I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out=
of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them=
,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord. =E2=80=9CThis is the covenant I will make w=
ith the people of Israel after that time,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord. =E2=
=80=9CI will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I wi=
ll be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will they teach th=
eir neighbor, or say to one another, =E2=80=98Know the Lord,=E2=80=99 bec=
ause they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,=E2=80=
=9D declares the Lord. =E2=80=9CFor I will forgive their wickedness and w=
ill remember their sins no more.=E2=80=9D This is what the Lord says, he =
who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to s=
hine by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar=E2=80=94 the L=
ord Almighty is his name: =E2=80=9COnly if these decrees vanish from my s=
ight,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord, =E2=80=9Cwill Israel ever cease being a=
nation before me.=E2=80=9D This is what the Lord says: =E2=80=9COnly if =
the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below =
be searched out will I reject all the descendants of Israel because of al=
l they have done,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord. =E2=80=9CThe days are comin=
g,=E2=80=9D declares the Lord, =E2=80=9Cwhen this city will be rebuilt fo=
r me from the Tower of Hananel to the Corner Gate. The measuring line wil=
l stretch from there straight to the hill of Gareb and then turn to Goah.=
The whole valley where dead bodies and ashes are thrown, and all the ter=
races out to the Kidron Valley on the east as far as the corner of the Ho=
rse Gate, will be holy to the Lord. The city will never again be uprooted=
or demolished.=E2=80=9D=E2=80=9D Jeremiah=E2=80=AC =E2=80=AD31=E2=80=AC=

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with h=
earts open, seeking Your presence and Your Word. Thank You for the promis=
es in Jeremiah 31 , promises of restoration, of unfailing love, and of a =
new covenant written on our hearts.

Lord, we ask that You would re=
build us where we are broken, strengthen us where we are weak, and renew =
our spirits. Remind us that You have loved us with an everlasting love an=
d that You draw us near with kindness and mercy.

As we open Your W=
ord today, help us to hear Your voice clearly. Plant Your truth deep with=
in us and write Your law upon our hearts. Teach us to walk in Your ways a=
s men of integrity, courage, and faith.

Let hope rise within us, L=
ord. For You have promised that there is a future for us and for the gene=
rations after us. Bind us together as brothers, encouraging and sharpenin=
g one another, as we stand firm in Your truth and Your love.

We pl=
ace our lives, our families, and our futures in Your hands. Be glorified =
in our study and in our lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
