ho is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace you=
rself like a man; I will question you, and you shall answer me. =E2=80=9C=
Where were you when I laid the earth=E2=80=99s foundation? Tell me, if yo=
u understand. Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know! Who stretch=
ed a measuring line across it? On what were its footings set, or who laid=
its cornerstone=E2=80=94 while the morning stars sang together and all t=
he angels shouted for joy? =E2=80=9CWho shut up the sea behind doors when=
it burst forth from the womb, when I made the clouds its garment and wra=
pped it in thick darkness, when I fixed limits for it and set its doors a=
nd bars in place, when I said, =E2=80=98This far you may come and no fart=
her; here is where your proud waves halt=E2=80=99? =E2=80=9CHave you ever=
given orders to the morning, or shown the dawn its place, that it might =
take the earth by the edges and shake the wicked out of it? The earth tak=
es shape like clay under a seal; its features stand out like those of a g=
arment. The wicked are denied their light, and their upraised arm is brok=
en. =E2=80=9CHave you journeyed to the springs of the sea or walked in th=
e recesses of the deep? Have the gates of death been shown to you? Have y=
ou seen the gates of the deepest darkness? Have you comprehended the vast=
expanses of the earth? Tell me, if you know all this. =E2=80=9CWhat is t=
he way to the abode of light? And where does darkness reside? Can you tak=
e them to their places? Do you know the paths to their dwellings? Surely =
you know, for you were already born! You have lived so many years! =E2=80=
=9CHave you entered the storehouses of the snow or seen the storehouses o=
f the hail, which I reserve for times of trouble, for days of war and bat=
tle? What is the way to the place where the lightning is dispersed, or th=
e place where the east winds are scattered over the earth? Who cuts a cha=
nnel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm, to water =
a land where no one lives, an uninhabited desert, to satisfy a desolate w=
asteland and make it sprout with grass? Does the rain have a father? Who =
fathers the drops of dew? From whose womb comes the ice? Who gives birth =
to the frost from the heavens when the waters become hard as stone, when =
the surface of the deep is frozen? =E2=80=9CCan you bind the chains of th=
e Pleiades? Can you loosen Orion=E2=80=99s belt? Can you bring forth the =
constellations in their seasons or lead out the Bear with its cubs? Do yo=
u know the laws of the heavens? Can you set up God=E2=80=99s dominion ove=
r the earth? =E2=80=9CCan you raise your voice to the clouds and cover yo=
urself with a flood of water? Do you send the lightning bolts on their wa=
y? Do they report to you, =E2=80=98Here we are=E2=80=99? Who gives the ib=
is wisdom or gives the rooster understanding? Who has the wisdom to count=
the clouds? Who can tip over the water jars of the heavens when the dust=
becomes hard and the clods of earth stick together? =E2=80=9CDo you hunt=
the prey for the lioness and satisfy the hunger of the lions when they c=
rouch in their dens or lie in wait in a thicket? Who provides food for th=
e raven when its young cry out to God and wander about for lack of food?=E2=
=80=9D

Inspired by Job 38:

Heavenly Father ,
You are Creator of heaven=
and earth, whose wisdom sets the boundaries of the seas and commands the=
morning. Forgive me when I question what I cannot understand. Teach me t=
o trust in Your power, rest in Your sovereignty, and walk humbly before Y=
ou. Remind me that You hold all things in Your hands, and Your ways are h=
igher than mine. In awe and reverence, I surrender to You. In Jesus name=
