=80=9CIn the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted=
, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above =
him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their=
faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. =
And they were calling to one another: =E2=80=9CHoly, holy, holy is the Lo=
rd Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.=E2=80=9D At the sound =
of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was fil=
led with smoke. =E2=80=9CWoe to me!=E2=80=9D I cried. =E2=80=9CI am ruine=
d! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean l=
ips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.=E2=80=9D Then one=
of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had ta=

Here am I. Send me!=E2=80=9D He said, =E2=80=9CGo and tell this people: =E2=
=80=9C=E2=80=86=E2=80=98Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever=
seeing, but never perceiving.=E2=80=99 Make the heart of this people cal=
loused; make their ears dull and close their eyes. Otherwise they might s=
ee with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, a=
nd turn and be healed.=E2=80=9D Then I said, =E2=80=9CFor how long, Lord?=
=E2=80=9D And he answered: =E2=80=9CUntil the cities lie ruined and witho=
ut inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the fields ruined a=
nd ravaged, until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utt=
erly forsaken. And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be l=
aid waste. But as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut do=

Hol=
y God, high and exalted, we stand in awe of Your glory. Cleanse our heart=
s, purify our lips, and forgive our sins. Here we are, send us. Use us to=
speak Your truth with boldness and to walk humbly in Your presence. In J=
